Financial Advisor
Our client is a long standing, locally based financial advisory firm, providing comprehensive planning and investment management services, primarily to women. What also makes the firm distinct is the forward thinking, practical, and hands-on approach to serving every client in a non-corporate, highly professional and welcoming environment.
This full-time position is perfect for someone looking to further or build a career in financial services without direct sales quotas, and in a non-corporate setting. The firm has added this position to support growth in its client base, requiring a truly solutions and consultative individual to provide personal financial planning, wealth management and portfolio consulting.
Core Responsibilities
- Work directly with current and prospective clients to provide support, advisement, and financial action plans
- Manage and develop an assigned book of client relationships with the highest level of professionalism, sound judgement, and independence
- Proactively work with clients to identify asset and revenue generating opportunities, and execute solutions to support clients’ financial goals
- Resolve complex problems and transactions
- Accept and place client trade orders in brokerage and advisory accounts
- Apply growing expertise in long term care, life insurance, fiduciary responsibility, investment management, and overall financial planning
- We encourage and expect continual training to stay abreast of industry and market trends, and to strengthen your overall financial expertise and ability to elevate the level of client service
- We also welcome someone who would love the opportunity to build and manage small business and retirements plans which require regular servicing and review.
- A minimum of a two-year degree; a bachelor’s preferred
- Series 65 FINRA license preferred
- NYS insurance license (life/accident/health) preferred
- Series 6 or 7 welcomed
- 2 years of direct client experience required
- Working knowledge of MS Office and financial planning software

- We are looking for someone who is patient, mature, a listener, and solutions driven. Every scenario and individual are different, and it is essential to understand and communicate concepts, and meet people where they are at.
- You should be comfortable applying an intense, hands-on process to ensure that that each client receives comprehensive, focused, and sound advisement
- This is a full time position just outside of the City of Albany in a beautiful, convenient setting. Due to the nature of this role, this is primarily an onsite position, especially in the first six months, in which you will have your own office.
- The hours are either 9-5 or 8-4
- The base salary for this role is 60k, and offers a retirement plan with company match, health insurance, PTO, professional memberships, and ongoing training opportunities.
