Help Wanted - Assistant Coordinator of Senior Services

The Town of Bethlehem is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Coordinator in the Senior Services Department.  Primary duties include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: 
  • Greet and assist visitors and volunteers when they arrive at the Senior Services Office. 
  • Take reservations and make subsequent confirmation calls for transportation and social programs.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules for Volunteers.
  • Help implement and supervise social programs.
  • Receive and process payments.
  • Drive cars and vans when needed.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Flexibility and patience while multi-tasking.
  • Experience in a collaborative team setting.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience in managing software used to collect transportation and statistical data in regard to age-relate topics
  • Effective Project execution and data entry
  • Experience implementing, learning, and supporting the rollout of new software and technology systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook. 
 
Minimum Experience and Training
A. Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least an Associate's Degree; OR, 
B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in providing services to, or dealing with the problems of, senior citizens; OR, 
C. Four (4) years of experience in providing services to senior citizens.
 
Town Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, sick time, medical and dental insurance, and New York State Retirement.
Salary range for this position is $49,432 -$60,255
