Job Title: Program and Communications Associate 

Location: 318 Delaware Ave. Suite 27 Delmar, New York  

Reports To: Chamber President 

Status: Part-time / 20 hours per week 

Position Overview: The Program and Communications Associate will support the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce (BCC) in delivering programs, communication, and services that support member engagement and community development. This role assists in the coordination and execution of events, communications, membership sales, and general BCC operations. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Program Coordination: 

    • Assist in planning and execution of Chamber activities, both at the Chamber office, and at event locations. 

    • Assist in the coordination of logistics, including venue selection, catering, and equipment setup and take down. 

    • Support program evaluation and feedback collection to improve future initiatives. 

  2. Member Engagement: 

    • Serve as a point of contact for members, addressing inquiries and providing information about programs and services. 

    • Assist in membership outreach and retention efforts, including welcome materials and membership renewals. 

  3. Communications and Marketing: 

    • Help develop marketing materials for programs, including flyers, the BCC newsletter, and social media posts. 

    • Maintain and update the Chamber's website and social media platforms with program information and member highlights. 

    • Monitor member social media and share via BCC social media channels and the BCC Newsletter. 

  4. Administrative Support: 

    • Manage program registrations and track attendance. 

    • Maintain accurate records of program participation and budget expenditures. 

    • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and filing. 

  5. Collaboration: 

    • Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders to enhance program offerings. 

    • Attend community meetings and represent the Chamber at various events as required. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred. 

  • Excellent professional and positive interpersonal skills. 

  • Previous experience in event coordination, customer service, or a similar role. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Excellent written.0 and verbal communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Word and Excel) and experience with social media platforms. 

  • A passion for community development and supporting local businesses. 

Working Conditions: 

  • Hours and location can be somewhat flexible (as long as Chamber commitments are being met). 

  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours for events. 

  • Must be able to drive to local events in own car (most within 10 miles of Chamber office). 

Compensation: 

  • Hourly range (depending upon experience): $21 - $24
