Community Caregivers provides services that enable individuals of all ages to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life within their homes and communities.
We accomplish our mission by offering non-medical assistance to local residents, who might otherwise be hospitalized or institutionalized, and by helping home caregivers manage the physical, emotional and financial toll that continuous caregiving can take.
Currently our need for staff is expanding and the following positions are available.
Position: Intake & Assessment Specialist
Community Caregivers is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals of all ages live safely and independently in their own homes and communities. We proudly serve Albany and Rensselaer counties, with our office based in Guilderland, NY.
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Intake & Assessment Specialist to join our team. This part-time position offers 8 hours per week at an hourly rate of $25 with the potential for increased hours based on new contracts or special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct initial in-home client intakes to assess eligibility and document needs.
• Perform client and caregiver revisits to ensure continued suitability for services.
• Participate in biweekly team meetings, providing valuable input on client needs and service planning.
• Offer guidance and referrals when services cannot be provided by Community Caregivers.
• Provide education and training for clients and/or volunteers as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• LPN, RN, BSW, or a related human services degree strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel locally and work effectively in diverse environments, including both urban and rural communities.
• Experience in direct client services preferred.
• Valid NYS driver’s license; Use of a personal vehicle is required for travel within our service area. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
• Must be self-directed with strong communication and assessment skills
• Successful completion of a background check is required for employment consideration

Volunteer Coordinator. We are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to providing services that enable individuals of all ages to live safely, and independently within their own homes and communities.
This position is for 14 hours per week with an hourly rate of $24. We offer a supportive team environment and flexibility with scheduling, including the possibility of some remote work. Our office is in Guilderland, NY. We serve Albany and Rensselaer counties.
Position Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers to achieve the organization’s mission. This role involves outreach efforts, conducting volunteer orientations and trainings on Zoom, organizing volunteer appreciation opportunities, and ensuring a positive volunteer experience. The coordinator will also develop relationships with community organizations, businesses, and colleges to strengthen volunteer engagement. This position also collaborates with team members and provides office support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies to recruit new volunteers.
• Conduct outreach through community events, social media, and partnerships.
• Conduct volunteer orientations, onboarding and provide ongoing support.
• Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support for volunteers.
• Recognize and appreciate volunteer efforts through events and communication.
• Enter volunteer opportunities into software system.
• Collaborate with team members to support program operations and ensure seamless service delivery.
• Provide general office support as needed, including phone coverage.
Qualifications
• Experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or human services preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

We are seeking a Case Manager to join our team. This role is designed for 18-22 hours per week at an hourly rate of $25. We offer paid PTO, sick leave and paid holidays in a supportive work environment. This position offers flexibility in scheduling with some remote work opportunities. We serve Albany and Rensselaer counties. Our office is in Guilderland, NY.
Position Summary
The Case Manager provides essential services and programmatic support including in-home conducting client intakes and on-going services to a small caseload of clients with needs that exceed those that can be met solely by our volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support
• Conduct in-home client intakes to assess needs, eligibility for services.
• Provide ongoing case management for a small caseload of individuals with a combination of needs (physical health, behavioral health, lack of a social support network, housing, transportation and/or access to food), ensuring appropriate support and service coordination.
• Provide support directly to clients as needed which may include rides to appointments, grocery shopping with or for clients, and home visits. (Use of personal vehicle required; mileage reimbursement provided.)
• Track and document contract deliverables to ensure compliance with funding agreements;
• Collaborate with team members to support program operations and ensure seamless service delivery, including office support as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field strongly preferred
• College students graduating Spring ’25 with a BSW are encouraged to apply.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle as part of the job requirements.

Position: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: 6-8 per week (flexible schedule)

Compensation: $25/hour

The Part-Time Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and supporting the financial health of the organization. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with experience in nonprofit bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• General Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
• Payroll Processing: Provide data to the external payroll company and ensure timely and accurate payroll.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Budget Management: Assist in tracking expenses against the approved budget and provide financial insights, including restricted and unrestricted grants.
• Tax & Compliance: Support annual financial review and tax filings (Form 990), ensuring adherence to nonprofit financial regulations.
• Assist Executive Director: with related work as requested.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills
Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance (nonprofit experience preferred).
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of nonprofit financial reporting and fund accounting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Maintain confidentiality.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
