Mark your calendar for Art on the Rail Trail’s 4th annual chalk art contest! The event will begin with a family-friendly chalk art contest on the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail (Behind the Stewart’s Shop at 309 Delaware Ave in Delmar), and the community will vote for winners on social media. The event will also feature Look & Learn: a discussion about Andrea Hersh’s untitled mural, commissioned by ART in 2017. Free and open to the public, the discussion will begin at noon on October 2, 2021, and will be led by art historian Charles Duncan. Come and explore and share your ideas as we learn about this major work of art that enhances the Rail Trail. All proceeds from chalk square sales will benefit murals and artwork on the Rail Trail and are tax-deductible, as ART is a committee of the non-profit organization Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy.
