5K Training Walk/Run
To prepare for our upcoming Capital Region Heart Walk/Run, in less than two weeks, there will be a 5k Training Program starting with some amazing running coaches and mentors. If you have ever wanted to learn the skills of running a 5k this could be a great opportunity for you! Registration for the 10-week Health for Good program will get you:
A personalized running assessment and plan based on your individual running skills and goals
Guidance on the proper mechanics of running/walking form as well as proper warm up and cool down stretches specific for recovery
Weekly running assignments provided in addition to in-person training
Guidance on proper nutrition, hydration, and attire when training
One on one in-person support to train alongside you and help you reach your goals
The experience of a fun team collaboration for race day!
Training Sessions begin April 3rd:
Lions Park/Niskayuna Bike Trail Thursdays at 5:30 pm - 5K Walkers 6:00 pm - 5K Runners or Run/ Walkers Program
