Position Type: Part-Time / Weekly
Pay Range: $28-$35 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

About Us: The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting and advocating for local businesses within our community. We offer a range of services and programs designed to promote economic growth and development. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure accuracy in our accounting processes.

Job Summary: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial reports. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain and update financial records using accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Accounts Receivable: Generate and send invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Budget Tracking: Assist in tracking and managing the Chamber’s budget and expenditures.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data and ensure all transactions are recorded.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Support: Provide general support to the finance team and assist with audits as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred; experience with non-profit organizations is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Work Schedule:
  • Hours: 3-5 hours per week
  • Days: Tuesday or Thursday
  • Flexibility: Some flexibility in scheduling may be available.
