Status: Part-time / 20-25 hours per week
Compensation:
- Hourly range: $16-$21 depending upon experience
- Potential for additional revenue via sales commissions.

ABOUT THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (BCC): The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce works on a local and regional level to advance the economic development of its members, the town, and the surrounding communities by fostering a positive business environment.
Position Overview: The Program and Communications Associate will support the delivery of programs, communications, and services that enhance BCC member engagement and community development. As the primary point of contact for members and callers, this role assists with event coordination, communications, membership sales, and general Chamber operations. Ideal for a "people person," this position offers the opportunity to be at the heart of community events and contribute to the success of local businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Member Communication
- Greet members and visitors who mail, phone, or visit BCC.
- Provide information about BCC.
- Assist in membership outreach and retention efforts, including welcome materials, and membership renewals.
- Program Coordination:
- Assist in planning and execution of Chamber activities, both at the Chamber office and at event locations.
- Support program evaluation and feedback collection to improve future initiatives.
- Marketing Assistance:
- Assist in developing and distributing marketing materials for programs, including flyers, the BCC newsletter, and social media posts.
- Monitor member social media and share via BCC social media channels and the BCC Newsletter.
- Administrative Support:
- Manage program registrations and track attendance.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation and budget expenditures.
- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and filing.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders to enhance program offerings.
- Attend community meetings and represent the Chamber at various events as required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma (Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred)
- Excellent professional and positive interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Word and Excel).
- Comfort using, and posting on, social media platforms.
- A passion for community development and supporting local businesses.
- Previous experience in event coordination, sales, customer service, or a similar role.
- Preferred: Experience in office administration, customer support, sales, or communications.
- Preferred: Experience organizing events.
Working Conditions:
- Hours can be somewhat flexible (as long as Chamber commitments are met and approved by the BCC President).
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours for events.
- Must be able to drive to local events in own car (most within 10 miles of Chamber office) and assist with setup and breakdown of event materials.
