Utility Billing Clerk in DPW

The Town of Bethlehem Department of Public Works is seeking candidates for a Utility Billing Clerk. Primary duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
  • Assist in the processing of utility billing activities;
  • Process utility payments, credits or penalties on unpaid account balances;
  • Maintain customer accounts;
  • Maintain necessary billing summaries, reports and records;
  • Track deferred payment agreements or accounts with problems and responds accordingly;
  • Prepares necessary permits and files;
  • May schedule appointments for service department or schedule dates for disconnection of service;
  • Answers phones and directs customers to correct department or employee;
  • Type correspondence and records, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in a clerical position. 

The salary range for this position is currently: $41,951-$50,995.
