The Town of Bethlehem Food Pantry Receives a $15,000 Grant from Hannaford Supermarkets
The Town of Bethlehem Senior Services Department is pleased to announce that Friends of Bethlehem Seniors has received a $15,000 grant from Hannaford Supermarkets to support the expansion of the Bethlehem Food Pantry. The funding will be used to purchase additional refrigeration and freezer space, increasing the pantry’s capacity to provide fresh, healthy, and nutritious food to our neighbors.
Town Supervisor David VanLuven: “Bethlehem is so fortunate to have a business like Hannaford that not only provides food to residents through its fine store, but that invests in supporting families in need through the Bethlehem Food Pantry. Thank you, Hannaford, for being such a good neighbor!”
Ean Rose, Director of Operations with Hannaford Supermarkets: “At Hannaford, we believe in the power of doing good in our communities. That’s why we’re so proud to support the work of Friends of Bethlehem Seniors and the Town of Bethlehem Food Pantry to provide critical infrastructure that helps ensure people in our community have access to the fresh, nutritious food they need to thrive.”
Bethlehem Senior Services Department Outreach Worker Amanda Price: “This support will help us strengthen our ability to serve our community and ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food.”
Eileen Bird, Volunteer with Bethlehem Senior Services: “We appreciate that Hannaford shares our concerns for fellow Bethlehem residents experiencing food insecurity, and we are grateful for the generosity Hannaford has shown to our community.”
The Bethlehem Food Pantry provides more than 25,000 meals to families annually. The pantry is a partnership between the Town of Bethlehem and the nonprofit Friends of Bethlehem Seniors and is located in the Bethlehem Town Hall in Delmar. Community partnerships are essential to the success of the Bethlehem Food Pantry and its mission to help ensure that everyone in our community has access to nourishing food.
